The Campbell University Teacher Education Program
ACCEPTANCE INTO THE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM
As an undergraduate candidate seeking a North Carolina “Initial” Teaching Licensure, you must be accepted into the Teacher Education Program at Campbell University in order to complete practicum/student teaching field experiences (by April 1 if planning to enroll in practicum in Fall semester and November 1 if planning to enroll in practicum in Spring Semester). It is important that you recognize admittance requirements early in your program of study so that you work to maintain the level of performance required to gain acceptance into the Teacher Education Program. In addition, stay current on national/state policy changes which might impact your program of study while at Campbell University. Attend any and all information sessions sponsored by the Professional Education Department.

Each fall and spring, the Director of Teacher Education will call a required meeting for all students pursuing teaching licensure. Attendance is “REQUIRED” at all Teacher Licensure meetings called for teacher education candidates. The purpose of these meetings is to pass on important information to you, to give you a chance to ask questions, and to have you submit the information needed by the faculty for effective management of the entire program. Information will also be given on assignment of advisers, course planning, and all field experience placements. Please cooperate by attending these meetings and encourage others to do so as well. This request is particularly important for secondary and K-12 majors since they do not typically take a heavy sequence of education courses until their senior year. Typically, the Director of Teacher Education will email the announcement as well as post across campus. Be attentive to these announcements and attend these important meetings. This is your responsibility!
